Transferring an Autel Tool to Your Account (Registration / Ownership Transfer)
If your Autel tool is registered to another account - a previous owner or AE Tools' account - and you can't update or access it, AE Tools can transfer the serial number to your account. All that's needed is a support ticket with the tool's serial number.
If your Autel tool is registered under another account - for example a previous owner's account on a used purchase, or AE Tools' account that the tool was originally licensed under - you may find you can't run updates, log in, or get support on it under your own account. The fix is a registration transfer: AE Tools contacts Autel to move the tool's serial number to your account. This is a Login & Account Access task, and the good news is it's simple - all AE Tools needs is the serial number.
When you need this
Consider a registration transfer if:
- You bought a used Autel tool and it's still tied to the seller's account.
- Your tool shows as registered to AE Tools (the account it was originally licensed under) and you want it under your own account for independent updates and support.
- You have an active subscription but the tool shows logged out or won't update because it's registered elsewhere.
How to transfer the tool to your account
1. Locate the tool's serial number (on the sticker on the back of the tablet, or on the tablet under Settings → About).
2. Submit a support ticket to AE Tools with that serial number.
3. AE Tools contacts Autel to transfer the serial number to your account.
That's all that's required - just the serial number. AE Tools handles the transfer with Autel from there.
Troubleshooting: Autel registration
"My Autel has an active subscription but shows logged out or won't update." The tool may be registered to a different account than the one you're using. Submit a ticket with the serial number and AE Tools can transfer it to your account.
"I bought a used Autel and can't register or update it." It's likely still registered to the previous owner. Send AE Tools the serial number in a support ticket to have it transferred to you.
