Which diagnostic software now requires Windows 11?

These nine diagnostic programs now require Windows 11 and will not run (or will lose support) on Windows 10: GM Techline Connect, Ford FDRS, Honda i-HDS, Toyota GTS+, Volvo Vida, Mazda MDARS/MDARS2, Cummins Insite, Volvo PTT, and Mack PTT.

If you use any of the following diagnostic programs, you will need a Windows 11 machine to run them. If you are still on Windows 10, plan an upgrade or a replacement laptop before the software stops working for you.

The nine diagnostic programs that now require Windows 11 are:

1. GM Techline Connect
2. Ford FDRS (requires Windows 11 starting end of Q1 2026, and a minimum of 16 GB RAM)
3. Honda i-HDS
4. Toyota GTS+
5. Volvo Vida
6. Mazda MDARS and MDARS2
7. Cummins Insite
8. Volvo PTT
9. Mack PTT

What to Do if You Are on Windows 10

Check whether your current laptop is eligible for a Windows 11 upgrade. Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 to be enabled, and some laptops with multi-partition setups are not eligible to upgrade in place. If your laptop does not qualify, you may need a replacement machine to keep running these diagnostic programs.

Before You Upgrade to Windows 11

Back up your license keys and activation details before performing a Windows 11 upgrade or switching to a new laptop. Reinstalling diagnostic software without the original licenses can delay getting back up and running. If you need help transferring licenses, contact AE Tools Support.
