Refunds, Subscription Cancellation, and Billing Disputes
Whether a subscription can be refunded depends on the situation - annual subscriptions run to the end of the term, all subscription sales are final, and wrong-software purchases are handled by manager approval. Here's how each case works.
Whether an AE Tools purchase can be refunded depends on what it is and the situation. Subscription sales are final, annual subscriptions run to the end of their term, and certain cases - like buying the wrong software are reviewed individually. This article explains how cancellations, refunds, tool returns, and billing disputes are handled so you know what to expect.
Cancelling an annual subscription
A one-year subscription runs for its full term. You can cancel it so that it does not renew at the end of the subscription there isn't a mid-term cancellation with a partial refund. If you don't want a subscription to continue, contact AE Tools before the renewal date so auto-renewal is turned off in time.
Refunds on subscriptions
All subscription sales are final on the sales order. The main exception is when the wrong software was sold or purchased:
- If the wrong software was sold, it is refunded.
- If you purchased the wrong software yourself, the refund is reviewed for manager approval.
To request a refund review, contact AE Tools with your order details: the tool serial the subscription was assigned to, the subscription type, the purchase date, and the reason for the request. Being specific about the reason helps AE Tools route it correctly — in some cases the best resolution is moving the credit to the correct subscription rather than a refund.
Tool returns and subscriptions
A subscription does not refund automatically when a tool is returned — subscription sales are final, separate from the hardware. Tool returns are also typically subject to a restocking fee. If you return a tool, contact AE Tools to confirm how any associated subscription is handled.
Billing disputes and chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, contact AE Tools first - most disputes come down to a misunderstanding about activation timing or a forgotten renewal, and verifying the actual charge usually resolves it. When a refund is issued, it is typically returned to your card within about 24 hours on AE Tools' side, though how quickly it appears depends on your credit card company. Allow up to about 3 business days for a refund to fully process.
What to have ready when you contact AE Tools
- The tool serial the subscription was assigned to.
- The subscription type (for example WiTECH 2.0, TechAuthority, Ford service, ACDelco TDS). - The purchase date.
- The reason for the refund, cancellation, or dispute.
