List of vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
Reference list of vehicles where aftermarket key programming is not currently supported or is inconsistent. Covers specific Nissan, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Dodge / Jeep / Ram / Chrysler, and Subaru models known to fail or be unreliable for key programming.
Trying to determine whether you can program a key to a specific vehicle? The list below covers vehicles where key programming is not currently supported, or where attempts have been inconsistent enough that it cannot be relied on. This list is not complete and is updated as new information becomes available.
Nissan vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
The following Nissan vehicles are not currently supported for key programming:
- 2024+ Rogue
- 2025+ Kicks
- 2025+ Murano
- 2025+ Armada
- 2023+ Ariya
Volvo vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
Any Volvo vehicle between the years 2000 and 2004 is not currently supported for key programming.
Mitsubishi vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
All Mitsubishi vehicles are currently unsupported for key programming.
Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
The following Stellantis vehicles are not currently supported for key programming:
- All Hornets
- All Grand Wagoneers
- 2025+ Rams (they work sometimes but not enough to be consistent)
Subaru vehicles where keys cannot be programmed
The Subaru list is not complete, but the following are currently known to be unsupported:
- WRX
- BRZ
