Jaltest License Renewal and Software Update Procedure (Post-Laptop Update)
Step-by-step Jaltest license renewal and software update guide using the built-in License Manager - apply license changes, renew and activate your license, verify activation, and install the latest Jaltest software update without reinstalling.
If your Jaltest software is showing license changes, an expired license, or prompting for renewal after a Windows update or laptop change, this is a license renewal procedure — not a reinstall. Jaltest includes a built-in License Manager that handles license updates, renewals, and activation without requiring you to uninstall the software or run the Jaltest Download Manager. Use this guide whenever Jaltest displays a "There are changes in your License" prompt, an Expired License button, or a "New Version available" notification at the bottom of the screen.
This procedure applies to all Jaltest installations regardless of brand coverage (Jaltest Truck, Commercial Vehicles, Off-Highway, Agricultural, etc.) and works after laptop updates, license modifications from AE Solutions, or annual subscription renewals. Jaltest license renewal and update procedure
The full procedure has four phases. Complete them in order - phases build on each other, and skipping ahead can cause activation to fail or the software update to install before the license renewal applies.
Phase 1 - Apply license changes
Start by opening Jaltest so the software can detect any pending license modifications from AE Solutions or your subscription account:
- Open the Jaltest software from the desktop.
- A prompt will appear: "There are changes in your License." - click the prompt to apply the license modifications.
- Click the tick (checkmark) to confirm.
If the license changes prompt does not appear, your license may not have been updated yet on AE Solutions' end. Contact AE Solutions support before continuing.
Phase 2 - Renew the license
Once license changes have been applied, renew and activate the license using License Manager:
- Click the Expired License button at the bottom of the screen.
- Click License Management on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click License Manager.
- Click Accept.
- Click "RENEW THE LICENSE".
- Click "ACTIVATE THE LICENSE".
- Click Close.
The license is now renewed and activated on your installation.
Phase 3 - Verify activation
Confirm the renewal was successful before moving on to the software update:
- Open the Jaltest software again.
- Click the X at the top of the License window.
- Confirm each license entry now shows "ACTIVATED".
If any license entries still show as expired or inactive, repeat Phase 2. If they continue to show as expired after a second attempt, contact AE Solutions support - the license may need to be re-pushed from their end.
Phase 4 - Install the software update
With the license renewed and verified, install the latest Jaltest software version:
- Click "New Version available — Click here" at the bottom of the screen.
- Click the X, then click Update Everything.
- Click Accept.
- Close the Jaltest program to begin the update.
- Allow the update process to run and close automatically.
Important note: If a "STOP" message appears during the update, do NOT intervene - allow the program to continue running. It will close Jaltest automatically when the update is complete. Force-closing during a STOP message can corrupt the installation and require a full reinstall.
Important note: There may be 2 separate updates required to complete the full procedure. If Jaltest prompts for another "New Version available" after the first update finishes, repeat Phase 4 to install the second update.
