How to fix Ford FDRS login issues - resync your credentials

Troubleshoot Ford FDRS login failures including invalid credentials errors, account lockouts, and server password sync problems. Step-by-step guide to resync through motorcraftservice.com.

Can't log into Ford FDRS (Ford Diagnostic and Repair System)? This is one of the most common issues AETools customers run into. The problem is almost always a password sync issue between Ford's server and the FDRS application - not because your password is actually wrong.

What causes Ford FDRS login failures

When you change your password on Ford's website, FDRS doesn't always pick up the change right away. Your password is correct, but Ford's server and FDRS are out of sync.

Other common causes include an expired Ford account, outdated FDRS software, browser cache interfering with login, or internet connectivity issues preventing FDRS from reaching Ford's server.

How to resync your Ford FDRS credentials

The fix is to log in directly through motorcraftservice.com to force your credentials to sync. Here's how:

Step 1: Go to www.motorcraftservice.com. Select your Country and Language, then click Submit.

Step 2: Click Log In at the top right of the page.

Step 3: On the login page, use the Log In option on the left side. Don't click "New to Ford" or any registration links.

Step 4: Enter your username and password and log in. If it works here, your credentials are now resynced.

Step 5: Go back to FDRS on your computer and try logging in again. It should work now.

Still can't log into Ford FDRS after resyncing

If the resync didn't fix it, try these in order:

Update FDRS: Make sure you're running the latest version. See our article "How to update Ford FDRS software" for instructions.

Clear browser cache: Clear all cache and cookies in your browser, then try the motorcraftservice.com login again.

Reset your password: Go to motorcraftservice.com, click "Forgot Password," create a new one, then try FDRS with the new password.

Check your internet: FDRS needs a stable internet connection to authenticate. If you're on a VPN, try disabling it temporarily.

If nothing works, Please submit a ticket to AETools or call us directly.

Ford FDRS error messages and what they mean

"Invalid credentials" - Your password is out of sync, not actually wrong. Follow the resync steps above.

"Account locked" - Too many failed attempts. Wait 30 minutes, or reset your password on motorcraftservice.com.

"Session expired" - Close FDRS completely, reopen it, and log in again.

"Unable to connect to server" - Check your internet connection. Make sure no firewall or VPN is blocking FDRS.

"Connection timed out" - Similar to above. Restart your router or try a different network.
