How to factory reset an Autel Maxisys Elite tablet

Important warnings before factory resetting your Autel Maxisys Elite

This process erases all personal data, vehicle history, and diagnostic software. You will need to re-download the System Updates and then all of the vehicle software updates after the reset.

Make sure you have an active Autel subscription on the tablet before you factory reset it. If you reset it without an active subscription, you will not be able to reload the software.

How to factory reset the Autel Maxisys Elite

Step 1: Power on the tablet and select Settings > System Settings > Reset.

Step 2: Select Factory Data Reset.

Step 3: Check the option box to "Erase SD card" and then select Reset Tablet.

Step 4: Select Erase Everything.

Step 5: The tablet will reboot. You will see the Android robot and the Erasing screen. The reset only takes about 2 minutes and then the tablet will come back up to the initial startup screen.

## How to set up the Autel Maxisys Elite after factory reset

Step 6: Swipe to unlock and go to System Settings and reconnect the tablet to your WiFi.

Step 7: Click on the big green Update button and start running the System Updates one at a time. Once System Updates are complete, you can then start reloading the vehicle software.

It is recommended to only download software for the vehicle makes you work on. If you select "Update All", it will put unneeded vehicle software back on the tablet and fill up the memory again.
