How to activate a Ford IDS or FJDS license purchased from AETools
Step-by-step guide to find your Ford license activation code from your AETools order email and activate it through IDS or FJDS. Activating through IDS/FJDS also activates FDRS.
Purchased a Ford IDS or FJDS license from AETools? This guide walks you through finding your activation code and activating it in the software. Note that IDS and FJDS both include FDRS - activating your license through IDS or FJDS will also activate it for FDRS.
How to find your Ford license activation code
Step 1: After purchasing the license, you will receive an email from AETools with the subject line "AE Tools & Computers: Sales Order" followed by your order number.
Step 2: Open the email and find the PDF attachment at the bottom. It will be labeled "Sales Order_SC."
Step 3: Open the PDF. You will find the license code under the Items section. It will look something like "FORDIDS1YR SN: TVC6-ABC1-5CCC-Y6Y7-T8TL."
How to activate the license in IDS or FJDS
The activation process is the same for both IDS and FJDS. They share the same icon on your desktop.
Step 4: Open IDS or FJDS on your computer.
Step 5: Click on the IDS/FJDS logo in the application to open Preferences.
Step 6: Click on System Utilities.
Step 7: Click on License Management.
Step 8: In the Select License Operation window, click "Activate a License."
Step 9: The Production License Activation window will appear. Copy or type your license code into the activation fields and click Continue.
Your Ford IDS/FJDS license is now active. Activating it this way will also activate it for FDRS - you do not need to activate separately in FDRS.
