Decoding on Your Keyline Machine

Decoding allows your Keyline machine to read an existing key and use the information to create a replacement on supported applications. The correct clamp, key type, and procedure are critical to a successful decode on Keyline Ninja, Ninja Total, or Gymkana.

Decoding on Ninja and Ninja Total

Keyline provides dedicated Ninja Total procedures for automotive laser keys, dimple keys, and edge-cut automotive keys. For automotive laser keys, Keyline's manufacturer resources demonstrate searching by vehicle and then decoding and cutting the key.

Decoding on Gymkana

Keyline Gymkana has dedicated manufacturer procedures for several automotive applications. Keyline demonstrates decoding and cutting Honda and Mazda keys using the U clamp on Gymkana. Keyline also demonstrates decoding and cutting Volkswagen keys using the V clamp on Gymkana.

General Decode-and-Cut Procedure

1. Identify the key/application.

2. Select the correct function in Liger.

3. Select the appropriate key type.

4. Install the original key in the correct clamp.

5. Secure the key.

6. Begin the decoding process.

7. Review the decoded information.

8. Install the appropriate replacement blank.

9. Follow the cutting procedure.

10. Inspect the completed key.

Important Note on Decoding

A badly worn or damaged original key can affect the decoding result on your Keyline machine. If the result appears incorrect, stop and verify the original key, application, and clamp before cutting another key.
