Why Subaru Requires an Auth Key for EyeSight Camera Registration
Subaru's programming process won't register a new EyeSight camera or affected module automatically. Subaru requires an 8-digit authorization key as part of the registration procedure to confirm the replacement is authorized before the Subaru module will communicate normally.
Where to Find the Subaru Auth Key in AllData
The 8-digit Subaru auth key isn't listed under EyeSight camera or ADAS documentation. It's published as a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) in AllData, filed under the immobilizer section rather than the camera section. When registering a Subaru EyeSight camera or module, check the Subaru immobilizer TSBs in AllData first if the key isn't where you expect.
Completing Subaru Module Registration with the Auth Key
Once you've located the 8-digit auth key from the Subaru TSB in AllData, enter it during the registration step for the new EyeSight camera or module in your Subaru diagnostic software (SSM). Registration should complete once the correct key is applied.
