Cummins INSITE Error 9999 (or 999) Even With a Current License: Install the 10.2 Update With Cummins Update Manager

Why INSITE fails to launch with a licensing error 9999, and how to fix it with the Cummins update.

What Error 9999 Means

INSITE may fail to launch or show a licensing error 9999 (sometimes reported as 999) even though your subscription is current. Cummins has identified this as a known issue and released a fix in the INSITE 10.2 update. A current license does not need to be moved or reissued to fix it.

How to Fix It

  1. Open Cummins Update Manager on the computer.

  2. Download and install the INSITE 10.2 update (the recent patch).

  3. Restart the computer.

  4. Open INSITE and confirm it launches.

If the Update Will Not Install or the Error Remains

Make sure the computer has an internet connection and that Update Manager shows the 10.2 update. If the error remains after the update and a restart, contact AETools at https://aetools.us or call (913) 856-6678 with the error number, your INSITE version, and the Tool Instance ID.
