NASTF LSID background check and eligibility requirements

NASTF will conduct a background check to determine your eligibility. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to qualify for an LSID.

Required documentation includes a valid driver's license, liability insurance with $1 million aggregate and $500,000 per event coverage, a valid business license, and proof of ownership or full-time employment.

Important: Contractors or 1099 workers are not eligible for an LSID. The applicant must be a full-time W2 employee or business owner.

If you are registering on the NASTF site yourself

You do not have to use our filing service — you can register directly with NASTF. The step that most often trips people up is the credential picker on the registration page, which offers more than one credential type.

From the NASTF registration page, click Get Started, then select the rightmost option unless you have been told otherwise. Choosing the wrong credential type means the application has to be corrected, which takes longer than getting it right the first time.
