Preloaded software options for your new AETools diagnostic computer
A breakdown of which OEM diagnostic software AETools can preload on your new computer before it ships, including which programs require an active subscription and which can be loaded without one.
Buying a new diagnostic computer from AETools and want it ready to work the moment it arrives? We can preload most major OEM diagnostic programs before shipping so you don't lose downtime installing software. Some programs need an active subscription to install, and some don't. Here's the breakdown so you know what to set up before placing your order.
Software AETools can preload without a subscription
hese OEM diagnostic programs can be installed on your new computer right away, no active subscription required at the time of preload:
- Ford (IDS, FJDS, FDRS - software install only; login still requires an active subscription)
- Volvo / Polestar (VIDA)
- Chrysler / Mopar (wiTECH - software only; login or licensing may still be required after delivery)
Note: "No subscription required for preload" means we can install the application itself. To actually use the software on a vehicle, you will still need valid login credentials and an active subscription with the OEM.
Software that requires an active subscription to preload
The following OEM diagnostic programs require a valid, active subscription before AETools can install them. Without an active subscription, the installer cannot authenticate and the software cannot be preloaded:
- Nissan / Infiniti (Consult III Plus / Consult 4)
- Toyota / Lexus (Techstream / GTS+)
- Honda / Acura (i-HDS / HDS)
- GM (General Motors) (GDS2 / SPS / SPS2 / Tech 2 Win / MDI Manager)
- BMW (ISTA / ISTA-P)
If you plan to have any of these preloaded, please make sure your OEM subscription is active and you've shared your credentials with our team before your computer ships.
Important notes about short-term subscriptions and shipping
If you purchase a short-term OEM subscription (1-day, 2-day, or weekly), it may expire while your computer is in transit. We recommend timing short-term subscriptions to start after your computer arrives, or purchasing a longer term so the subscription is still active when you receive the machine.
For multi-OEM builds, AETools also offers 5-partition diagnostic computers that keep conflicting OEM software isolated on separate Windows installations. See our diagnostic software compatibility article for which programs cannot share a partition.
Final notes on preloading
Subscriptions must be obtained before the software can be installed - there's no way to preload a subscription-locked program without active credentials.
If you're unsure which OEM subscriptions you need, how long they should last, or how to coordinate them with your shipping date, our support team can walk you through it.
Preloading is included as part of our commitment to getting you up and running quickly - it's not a separate add-on charge.
